FAQs

Who are the creators of Anahita Social Engine?

This project has been inspired and initiated by the founders of rmd Studio and Peerglobe Technology partner companies and it has been further supported by a group of partners and contributors.

What makes Anahita more significant compare to the other existing solutions?

  • Anahita is for developing Social Web Anything projects and not just social networks. That would be  Intranets, Online Learning, Community Markets, Citizens Journalism, and more. Social Networking is one of the many projects.
  • Anahita's design philosophy is that your project has to be able to evolve over time rather than being a great but static solutions at a certain point in time.
  • Anahita provides a Rapid Application Development framework and an easy to understand design philosophy so all the building blocks that you'll develop just click and fit together seamlessly.

How is Anahita's License?

Anahita is released under the GPL License 3.0

Is this a yet another facebook cloner?

Heaven no! facebook is one of the many types of social web species out there. Anahita Social Engine ™ is for developing social web projects of all kinds. If a facebook clone is what you want, you can have that too!

What are Anahita's major goals?

Build a social engine solution that is:

  • organic, scalable, and cost effective
  • maintains the ability to evolve as the ecosystem and market needs change
  • brings the people of the world closer to each other

Where can I download Anahita?

Currently the source code is only available to our clients and partners who are funding the project. If you would like to become a partner or hire our team to build a custom solution, please don't be shy and contact us

Why become a partner?

We have cut the cost of developing a finished commercial social web project to less than half compare to 8 months ago, however developing a social web project is still pricey. You probably have your own team of developers and interested in developing Anahita projects for yourself or for your clients.

Becoming a partners is a cost effective way for you to get access to the source code and the development knowledge using this framework ahead of time. You get to ask questions from the core developers directly and also provide feature requests for the upcoming versions of Anahita Social Engine ™ technology.

Are there any plans to make Anahita available to the public?

Of course! The reason that we haven't done that yet is becuase the framework is still going through a lot of Architectural changes. We can help our clients and partners leap through the upgrades, however helping thousands of people make those leaps could drain us from resources.

Currently our project is being funded by the contributions of our Clients and partners. Hopefully before 2009, the social engine technology will be available to the public under the GPL license and via a subscription based support and distribution network which is being developed as we speak.

Where does the name Anahita come from?

The project name and logo were inspired by the ancient Persian Goddess Anahita the divinity of water, wisdom, protection, peace, and fertility. She seeded planets with life and grew communities. Anahita Means "The Immaculate One".

In the ancient culture Water also symbolizes knowledge that freely flows amongst the communities and is necessary for life to continue. Some believe that she could be the origin of Venus, Aphrodite, or the pagan Eve (mother of all human kind). What's certain that she is graceful, compassionate, confident, and powerful.

We thought this would be the perfect concept for our social engine project which is indeed about growing online communities, facilitating freedom of knowledge, and democracy when this technology reaches the hands of hundreds and thousands of people around the world.

That way all the people, developers and organizations who wish to utilize the power of Anahita could recieve support in exchange for a small contribution to the project.
