Anahita is a light and scalable open source solution for building Social Networks, Intranets, and so many other types of social web experiences! Anahita is developed as Joomla 1.5 extensions and using the Nooku Framework.

Unlike other similar projects that are architecturally stiff and mainly focused on copying and mimicking websites such as Facebook or MySpace, the Anahita SocialEngine™ framework is aiming to become a flexible and organically grown solution for different types of business and work-flow scenarios that are going to be executed and developed in a social and collaborative context.

This project is also keen to deliver a solid platform to the high population and high traffic websites. Social Networks are prone to grow large in size exponentially. it's easy to run out of storage on your servers. Anahita can easily be configured to store users data on the Cloud (for example Amazon s3) where space is abundant and cost is low.

Anahita is developed by the Software Architects and Designers from Peerglobe Technology and rmd Studio, the two partner companies located in Yaletown, Vancouver, BC, Canada specialized in developing Social Web and iPhone Software solutions.
